ABOUT THE PROJECT
“Children’s city” was an exhibition that marked the end of urban education workshops for secondary school students during our project“Take back the city!” The ”invasion” of young planners from 8 schools was held in Bucharest at the Green Hours Terrace.
The children’s exhibition consisted of their photos with urban themes from Bucharest, made with disposable cameras, urban interventions proposals and models paper with ideas to improve public spaces.
In order to create for the children an enjoyable time at Green Hour’s terrace, we introduced in the exhibition program a painting workshop, during which children worked in teams and made paintings on the theme “the ideal city”. They were later exhibited in various locations in Bucharest.
This was a totally innovative exhibition in Bucharest. Visitors were surprised by the ideas and initiatives of the children. The exhibition aim was to demonstrate that the city’s younger residents deserve their turn to be heard, taken into account and to be considered urban actors.
