ABOUT THE PROJECT
“Urban_Dream_Scapes” is a bilateral youth exchange between Romania and Estonia, where 25 participants will discover the urban landscape of the Romanian capital city, will interact with the local community and will have an creative and voluntary approach to it. The project lasts from March to June 2014, while the actual youth exchange will take place in Bucharest in the period 28th April -5th of May 2014.
The theme is urban development through active involvement of young European citizens having the aim to reactivate public urban spaces and build a sense of community around them. The project wants to bring together young people from 2 very different cultural and historical evolution of the urban environment from EU extremities (north and east), and through empirical observations and teamwork, to bring a contribution to coherent urban planning with a strong social approach.
The activities will involve urban walks, a creative workshop for building a temporary installation in the public space and will end with a community event in Carol Park from Bucharest, where the participants will have a direct contact with the local community, promoting volunteering and active European citizenship.
The methods used involve non-formal education, through creativity games, teamwork and idea sharing round table.
The project is implemented by Komunitas Association, in partnership with an Estonian NGO named Linnalabor.
