The project “Urban Spaces in action” was developed between May 2014-November 2015 and it consisted in urban education workshops for teenagers, urban research and activation of urban areas in three districts of Bucharest: Timpuri Noi, Tineretului, Tei. The prize was given by AFCN – Administration of National Cultural Fund (Agency within Ministry of Culture)
This prize was given within ”Awards for Public Participation Gala”, organized by the Resource Center for Public Participation (CERE).
“The quality of citizen is not coming with an ID card. It is acquired when the individual is recognized as belonging to a community and is willing to invest in a project called community. And to demonstrate to those in power that a citizen has the will. After long and bureaucratic negotiations with local authorities institutions, Komunitas Association together with citizens managed to rearrange a park in a disadvantaged neighborhood of Bucharest – Ferentari. Now, individuals converted into citizens enjoy their work and neighborhood. ”
