“Images connecting people” was a project of non-formal education through multimedia, addressed to youngster from two high-schools and two schools in Bucharest, supported by a CEE Trust grant EEC (Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe) .
The ideas of the project were:
Stimulating the critical thinking of young people and increasing their civic engagement;
Emphasizing the idea that they can realize media products themselves;
Promoting non-formal education against discrimination through audio-video means;
Facilitating youth access to new media products, based on the concept of “do it yourself” (and promoting the idea that, instead of being simple media consumers, they can create their own messages.
Over several months, young people worked on developing documentary films on various social issues, also learning how to use the video equipment. They gathered various visual materials, structured and edited them. Finally, five documentary films on various social issues resulted.
