ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project „Together we write the world” aims to empower children from a disadvantaged area of Bucharest and to create solidarity and partnership through media workshops, between future opinion makers / future journalists and the public opinion, in order to stimulate social and cultural understanding.
Between May – December 2010, our Initiative will put together 25 pupils from School no. 136 and no. 148, situated in Ferentari, and 10 Journalism students, in a team-experience of culture and art journalism – which will be used as non-formal education method for civic education.
The project uses exploration and play, journalistic investigation, writing and photo skills through which the pupils will learn about the social and cultural diversity of their city. They will exercise their ability to analyze movies, theatre plays, scenes, actors, footlights, stages, music, people, and to express their own principles, values, passions in written press materials. They will directly participate in editing, design and layout for the project magazine.
The results of the activities will be gathered in:
1) the midd-project open-exhibition – where principles such as freedom of speech or cultural diversity will be transmitted to other young people and journalists;
2) the magazine of the project, entirely written and edited by the participants.
